John Saul is one of those authors that I tend to forget about until I get around to reading another of his books - then I remember how much I enjoy his work! Nothing flashy, and not too much blood and gore (not that I don't enjoy that, too), just good, solid storytelling. I don't think I've read a book of his that I didn't like, and this one is one of my favorites. It is enjoyable from the very beginning, and as is usual with Mr. Saul's novels, it has a somewhat disturbing ending (his books don't tend to end that happily for the most part). So if you're looking for a great, quick read (and who isn't - it is the summertime (time for the beach!)), give this one a try!
